Welcome to ISHW 2026 – Córdoba, Spain

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee and the International Program Committee, we are pleased to invite you to the 25th International Stellarator Heliotron Workshop (ISHW-2026), which will take place in the historic city of Córdoba, Spain, from April 20 to 24, 2026.

The event is organized under the auspices of the IEA Stellarator-Heliotron Technology Collaboration Program (IEA SH TCP) by the Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT) and the University of Córdoba. It will be held at the Córdoba Conference and Exhibition Center (Palacio de Congresos), a beautiful 16th-century building located in the heart of Córdoba’s old town, just steps away from the renowned Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984.

The scientific programme will include invited lectures, oral and poster presentations, and is open to contributions on all aspects of plasma physics, science, and technology in helical devices. 

The main topics covered are:

• 3D effects on transport and confinement
• Impurity sources and transport
• Plasma edge physics and plasma wall interaction
• Energetic particles, MHD and plasma stability
• Theory and simulation
• Energy, particle and momentum transport
• Stellarator relevant fusion technology
• Stellarator and Heliotron reactor design studies
• 3D effects in Tokamaks and Reversed Field Pinches
